My name is Melissa Kosloski and I was born and raised in the St. Cloud, Minnesota area. Besides my "birth work", I am a stay-at-home mom, wife, and household manager. My husband and I have two energy filled little boys. Emmett, who is 3, thinks he is a Power Ranger, and little brother Omri loves all things associated with his momma. They keep me busy, but everyday is a new challenge full of wonder and adventure. In our spare time, we enjoy being around friends and family. Going out for dinner, cooking with friends, or gathering for a game night is how we relax. We are always up for trying something new, especially if it involves food! Since the birth of our children, I have become fascinated with all things pregnancy and birth. I quickly realized that they aren't just something that happen to a woman. It's truly what transforms a woman into a mother. Everything changes and you are never the person who you were before. And that's okay! In fact, it's AMAZING! Through my transition from single woman, to wife, to mom, I have learned more about myself than I could have ever imagined. I have discovered what is truly important to me, how to tune into my intuition, learned how to follow my gut, and realized...I don't know nearly as much as I thought I did! I spend as much time as I can learning new things, especially about birth.
I enjoy spending time with other parents, and parents-to-be, discussing the unique situations and challenges we face, and learning from each other's experiences. Parenthood and the journey to it are different for everyone. There is no "perfect formula" and there rarely is a "right or wrong". I am constantly adjusting and adapting to what fits our family. Pregnancy is the first time we are faced with this. Everyone has advice, and everyone has an opinion. It's a learned skill to find what works for you and your family, while still keeping those relationships with loved ones strong. With my childbirth education classes and doula support, it is my goal to offer you as much factual information as I can, open up discussion, and offer up dialog to help you along your journey. I try very hard to remain open-minded and non-judgmental, and I hope to learn as much from you as you do from me. We never stop learning or growing.
